This individual is capable of performing self-directed work in the therapeutic care, treatment and rehabilitation of persons within the program, has demonstrated a basic ability to deal with participants on a more independent basis. This person plans and conducts therapeutic activities and counsels therapeutically with participants on an individual and group basis. He/she must demonstrate an advanced understanding of the full continuum of care and will work with other employees/contractors to enhance their understanding and application of the clinical experience. In addition, this person must have a broad understanding of how a therapeutic program operates and how each participant moves along in the treatment system.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, carrying out tasks in the therapeutic care, treatment and rehabilitation of chemically dependent persons, and/or mental health problems, providing, facilitating in and supervising individual and group counseling; working with other social agencies and managed care organizations, hospitals, clinics, courts, prisons and gatekeepers in planning to meet the needs of participants and assist other staff in utilizing these resources; preparing Recovery Plans, histories, writing letters, making reports and keeping records; encouraging, reassuring and giving needed support to newer clinical staff; recommending educational and occupational training and/or possibilities for placement. Providing assessment and evaluations based on appropriate criteria.

This individual is responsible for overseeing their entire program; consisting of 5 or more treatment components, and/or more than ten (10) staff, and/or more than 75 slots in a complex program; including planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the operation of their program and the staff under their direction. This individual will supervise the quality of services offered in their facility through “continuous quality improvement” strategies to ensure that services are consistent with the needs of each individual but that they also represent the overall intent of the Divine Light, Inc. philosophy.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, developing goals and objectives for their specific program; overseeing the planning and implementation of treatment; coordinating all aspects of treatment and ensuring compliance with federal regulations; maintaining the program within budgetary guidelines; reviewing admissions, discharges and other aspects of the treatment program. Work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures. Work is reviewed by the Executive Director or designee to whom he/she directly reports.
